Basic principles of Rastafarianism:

Among their fundamental ideas is to communicate with Jah, their God, and through a careful examination of the Bible (Kebra Naagast) live a natural (minimalist) life and praise Jah through every action , they consider this important to live an eternal life, Through meditation, followers come to the truths and begin to understand what has been left out of the Christian Bible, the Bible gives a representation of the past and the future; but really it can only be understood within oneself, the idea of personal experience and being guided by Jah shows the independence of Rastafarians, with Jah's guidance, the truth will finally be told, the Rasta not only believes in Jah, but that he also knows Jah, which ultimately leads him to know himself, he is not only his God, but he is everything in this world. Jah can be seen in every person and every object.

The people of the Rasta movement believe in Jesus, as in many other religions, but they believe in an African-looking Jesus, which fits more with the Rastafarian culture. Haile Selassie is believed to be the returned Messiah, but at the same time a traveling companion. He was thought to be the true living god of the black race . Biblical references point to his holiness, although he himself was not so sure about this, but his followers are convinced that God is black, blackness is synonymous with holiness . Selassie strove toward universal equality among men, and taught the sacredness of truth and justice.

It is a socio-cultural and religious movement that considers the Emperor of Ethiopia , Haile Selassie I , as an incarnation of God . Rastafarianism is also a politically oriented religion, whose main characteristic is not to accept the values imposed by the dominant ideology. Rastafari, more than a religion, is an order of life that has principles and rules of coexistence. Most Rastafarians do not identify with any sect or denomination.
