The Urantia Book is the foundation of the beliefs of Urantia Foundation. The book describes Urantia as an ancient name for planet Earth. There are five epochal events in human history; The fourth is the life of Christ and the fifth epochal revelation is the Urantia Book. The book does not present a complete religion. Urantia does not have a clergy or creed that is required to believe, nor does it have a code of behavior. There are many teachings from the Urantia Book.
Part I consists of the 31 documents and describes the nature of Deity, the reality of Paradise, the organization and functioning of the central superuniverses, the personalities of the grand universe, and the high density of evolutionary patterns. These books were formulated by 24 spiritual administrators who acted on a mandate issued by high deity authorities, also known as the "Ancients of Days", who ordered them to be made on planet Urantia in the year 1934 AD.
Part II, consisting of 25 articles, describes the Local Universe, which is the work of Michael's Creator Son of the Order of Paradise. It is made up of 100 systems of constellations, each with 100 systems of inhabited worlds. Each system will eventually contain approximately 1,000 inhabited spheres. Urantia (Earth) belongs to the local universe. Michael, the Son of God and the Son of Man (also known as Jesus of Nazareth), is the sovereign of the local Urantia universe. In the central universe, the Universal Father (God) is a personally present figure. The Father is represented in sovereign universes by sovereign sons. However, it is still present in the minds of your mortal children through their "indwelling spirit" or "Thought Adjusters."
In Part III, 63 articles describe the history of Urantia. Around 1,000,000,000 years ago, Urantia reached its current size. This part describes the history of the planet, its geological development, the establishment of life, the evolution and history of man, evolving civilizations, human institutions and governments. It also discusses the concept of the Trinity, the evolution of religion, the indwelling spirit of God, the survival of the personality, and the bestowal of Christ Michael.
Book IV, the final book, consists of 77 documents that describe the life and teachings of Jesus. It describes the childhood, youth, early travels, personal and public ministry of the Son of Man, the twelve disciples, and their trial, death, and resurrection.
Short description of the Urantia Brotherhood.
The Urantia Book, also known as The Urantia Papers or The Fifth Revelation, is a spiritual, theological, and philosophical literary work about God, man, religion, philosophy, and destiny. It was written between 1922 and 1939 and published for the first time in the United States in 1955; in the text it is pointed out that it has been written directly by celestial creatures - who occasionally speak in the first person at the end of some documents - using a sleeping human being as a mode of contact. There are controversies about its content and interpretation, while for some it is a spiritual revelation and philosophical work, for others it is no more than science fiction. A distinctive feature of the Urantia Book is that there is no official interpretation of its content, there is no organization that defines Urantia orthodoxy, each reader must interpret it according to their good judgment.
