Basic Principles of Jehovah's Witnesses:

.

This is a summary of some of its fundamental beliefs and the biblical quotes used by its members to support them:

.

  • The Bible is the infallible word of God and the basis of beliefs (Second Letter to Timothy 3: 16-17; Gospel of John 17:17).

  • God's name is Jehovah (Exodus 3: 14,15; Psalm 83:18; Gospel of John 17:26).

  • Christ is the Son of God, his first creation or firstborn, his only begotten Son, his master worker but he is not Almighty God (Isaiah 43:10; Gospel of Matthew 16:16; Colossians 1: 15,16; Revelation 3:14 ; Gospel of John 1: 1; 5:29; 14:28).

  • The holy spirit is the active force of God, that is, his power in action, which can help in moments of weakness (Gospel of Matthew 3:16; Acts of the Apostles 1: 8 and 3:16).

  • They do not believe in the Holy Trinity (John 14:28; Matthew 16: 15,16; Proverbs 8: 22-31; Psalm 83:18; Colossians 1:15)

  • Man was created, he was not the fruit of evolution (Genesis 1:26; Gospel of John 2: 7; Gospel of Matthew 19: 4).

  • Human beings die because we have inherited sin from Adam, but this condition will end (Genesis 2:17; Paul's Letter to the Romans 5:12).

  • Christ offered his perfect human life as a ransom so that everyone exercising faith in Jehovah would not be destroyed but have eternal life in an earthly paradise (Gospel of John 3:16; Hebrews 10:12; Hebrews 9:28).

  • The human soul ceases to exist at the moment of death, and the hope for the dead is resurrection (Genesis 2:17; Ezekiel 18: 4; Ecclesiastes 9: 5,6,7,8,9,10; Gospel of John 5: 25,28,29; Acts of the Apostles 24:15; John 6:40).

  • Christ died on a stake or vertical post, not on a cross (Paul's Letter to the Galatians 3:13; Deuteronomy 21: 22-23; Acts of the Apostles 5:30). They call the instrument on which Jesus Christ was executed a torture stake.

  • Hell (Sheol or Hades) is the common grave of humanity and there is no place of torment, where souls are punished. (Job 14:13; Revelation 20: 13-14; Luke 10:15; Acts of the Apostles 2:31; John 5:28).

  • The presence or parousia of Christ is spiritual and coincides with the "time of the end" that began in 1914 and will end with the battle of Armageddon, in which God will destroy the current system of governments and evil, thus ending suffering but not the earth. (Acts of the Apostles 1: 9-11; Gospel of Matthew 24: 3-51; 2 Thessalonians 1: 6-10; Revelation 16: 13-16).

  • Jehovah's Witnesses recognize a High Priest: Jesus Christ. The Jehovah's Witnesses also do not recognize a clerical class, since there is no distinction between them between clergy and laity, because they recognize each Witness as a minister of God (Matt. 23: 8-11).

  • The Kingdom of God, in the hands of Christ, will rule the earth for a thousand years and will restore the paradise conditions that God intended when creating it (Isaiah 9: 6-7; Isaiah 11: 1-5; Revelation 20: 4-6).

  • The Earth will exist and will be populated eternally it will never be destroyed (Isaiah 45: 18-19; Psalm 102: 25; Revelation 10: 6; Psalm 37:11; Gospel of Matthew 5: 5; Revelation 21: 4).

  • The divine reward and punishment are not heaven and hell, but eternal life and eternal destruction or death (John 6:40, John 3:16; Ezekiel 18: 4; Paul's Letter to the Romans 6:23; 2 Thess 1: 6-10).

  • Only 144,000 humans go to heaven, for the purpose of ruling with Christ, the 144,000 humans who go to heaven are called: anointed (John 10:16; Rev. 7: 4; Revelation 14: 1-5; Eph. 3 : 3-6; Letter of Paul to the Romans 8: 16,17).

  • There is only one way that leads to life (Malachi 3: 1; John 14: 6; Mt. 7:14; Acts 24:14).

  • One should only pray to Jehovah , through Christ (2 Chronicles 7:14; John 14: 6,13,14; Matthew 6: 9; John 11: 2; John 15:16; Philippians 4: 6; John 5:13 -fifteen).

  • They do not follow any leader, nor do they consider any of the Presidents of the Watchtower Society as its founders. They believe that their only leader and founder is Jesus Christ (Matthew 23: 9-12).

  • Images should not be used to worship God . God hates the use of symbols or idols to worship Him (Ex. 20: 4-6; Deut. 4: 15-19; Isa. 42: 8; Mt. 4: 8-11; Mt. 6: 9-13; 1Cor 10:14).

  • Any form of spiritism should be avoided (Deut. 18: 10-12; Gal. 5: 19-21; Lev. 19:31).

  • Satan is the invisible ruler of the world, so the Christian must keep separate from the world and avoid political and ecumenical movements (1 John 5:19; 2 Cor. 4: 4; John 12:31).

  • It is mandatory to obey human laws that do not contradict God's. This means that they have a relative subjection to the authorities and when some authority forces them to disobey divine laws they prefer to "obey God rather than men" (Matt. 22:20, 21; 1 Pet. 2:12; 4:15).

  • Introducing blood into the body violates divine laws of the sanctity of blood (Gen. 9: 3, 4; Lev. 17:14; Acts 15:28, 29).

  • Biblical laws on morality must be obeyed and all forms of sexual immorality should be avoided (1 Cor 6: 9, 10; 1 Tim 3: 2).

  • There should be no clergy or special titles in the Christian congregation (Matt. 23: 8-12; 20: 25-27; Job 32: 21,22).

  • Baptism is by immersion and symbolizes the Christian's dedication to God. They do not perform infant baptism (Mar 1: 9, 10; John 3:23; Acts 19: 4,5).

  • The Christian must give public witness to the biblical message (Rom. 10:10; Heb. 13:15).

  • In general, to be saved from Armageddon or to resurrect and live in under the Kingdom of God, called "Paradise", you must do and trust in four works:

1) Acquire knowledge.

2) Behave according to the knowledge acquired.

3) Preach (share your doctrines with other people who are not Jehovah's Witnesses).

4) Belonging to Jehovah's kingdom (being part of the Watchtower organization or being one of Jehovah's Witnesses)
